The following page is dedicated to distributing crucial information about copyright laws. There are many grey areas in copyright laws so we must educate ourselves before we unknowingly commit copyright infringement. The links will provide you with definitions, websites, videos, quizzes, and teacher resources that will assist you in teaching others about copyright laws.
What is copyright?
According to Copyright.gov,";copyright is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and grounded by law for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Copyright covers both published and unpublished works."
What does this mean to our students living in a technology driven world with information, videos, music, movies, etc just a mouse click away? Do students understand the severity of the punishment if caught engaging in copyright infringement. It is our job as educators to teach students of their rights and responsibilities to obey the laws.
